We needed a quick way to attach the vac to the different tools around the workshop. I mocked up some magnetic attachments in Fusion and cut them on the CNC.
The weight of the hose turned out to be too much for the magnets, so I mocked up a simpler slot based version instead.
This worked well. There is some leakage, so maybe a third version can get some rubber seals.
Rotavator wheels
The rubber wheels on the rotavator kept popping and needing replacing. Since the CNC was already running for the vac system, I cut a few 12 inch gear shaped wheels out of 18mm ply, the teeth giving some traction, and screwed them together in layers of three to make replacements. I am not sure how long they will last, but they did the job. We could make the same design in metal or plastic later.
